Sutton resident Joan Katherine Chandler, 82, died Friday, December 6, 2013, at her home in Sutton, NE.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Hope Reformed Church in Sutton, NE with Rev. Darrell Kingswood officiating. Interment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m., with the family present from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton, NE.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Joan (Maser) Chandler was born November 18, 1931, to Carl and Leontena "Tena" (Reich) Maser on a farm east of Sutton, NE. She received her education in Sutton and graduated from Sutton high school in 1951, after an 18 month delay due to tuberculosis. On May 18, 1952, she married Richard Chandler at the Federated Church in Sutton, NE and their marriage was soon blessed with their three children. "Jo" lived in Sutton for the majority of her life. She had a great love for people and enjoyed waitressing as her employment until retirement. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, canning, crocheting, sewing, being with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of Hope Reformed church in Sutton, NE.

Survivors include her brother, Richard Maser of Springfield, OR and family; sister-in-law, Avis King of Phoenix, AZ and family; daughter, Linda Hansen and husband Greg of Omaha, NE; daughter, Kim Van Dyke of Kansas City, MO; son, Kenny Chandler of Sutton, NE; grandchildren, Matt Hansen of Omaha, NE; Clint Hansen of Omaha, NE; Chandler and husband Raoul Santiago of Kansas City, MO; Jordan and husband Jake Chambers of Grandview, MO; Katlyn Chandler of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Karli and husband Will Talley of Merrimac, WI; Kara Chandler of Wisconsin Dells, WI; great grandsons, Harlan Talley; Joash Santiago; Cohen Chambers; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Carl and Leontena "Tena" Maser; husband, Richard Chandler; sister-in-law, Joyce Maser; and son-in-law Wayne Van Dyke.
