Joleen Fay “Jodi” Mims, 69, of Grand Island died Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Wedgewood Care Center.
To honor Jodi’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service. All Faiths Funeral Home is serving the family.
Jodi was born October 9, 1944 in Wood River, the daughter of Harold and Ethel (Redding) Workman.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and DeeDee Starr of Grand Island,; daughter, Caprice Mims of Boise, Idaho and sisters, Caroline (Carl) Lamppa of Embarrass, MN and Sandy (John) Warner of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jodi’s free spirit did not allow her to remain long in one place. At one time she owned and operated her own hair salon “A Cut Above” in Mexico Beach, Florida. She loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors. An independent soul, her life had made her strong. Jodi especially enjoyed the company of her Schnauzer, Coalie.
