Less than a year after the Great Platte River Road Archway filed for bankruptcy, they're getting some help moving forward.
Kearney City Council approved a funding request for the monument by a 3 to 1 vote Tuesday night. Councilman Jonathan Nikkla voted against the motion.
The Archway had asked for $75,000 a year for three years. Buffalo County Supervisors expect the same request from the Archway.
The Archway's foundation filed for bankruptcy in March 2013.
A bankruptcy judge freed the Archway of its $20 million in debt in September, but all along the Archway said they'd still need help keeping the doors open.
