Kenneth “Ken” M. Frank, 71, of Kearney, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at his home.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kearney with Fr. Paul Colling and Fr. Abraham Kaduthodiyil officiating.  Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery.  A wake service will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Visitation will be Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the Church until the wake service and one hour prior the funeral Saturday morning at the church.  Memorials are suggested to Kearney Catholic High School Foundation or the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Visit www.hlmkfuneral.com to leave a message of condolence, tribute or memory.  Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.

Ken was born January 12, 1942 in Hays, Kansas to Frederick and Cresentia (Glassman) Frank.  He graduated from St. Joseph Military Academy in Hays.  He then graduated from Kansas State University.  Ken married Andra Attebery on March 20, 1965 in Clay Center, Kansas.  They lived in Omaha, where he worked as an Electrical Engineer for McMartin Industries.  They moved to Kearney in 1974.  Ken continued his career as an Engineer at Agtronic, which later became Coleman Powermate.  As an Engineer, Ken holds 13 patents, including one for a residential hydrogen fuel cell generator.  He also designed the power supply to the Martian Orbiter Mariner IV.  Ken was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  He had a strong faith, and enjoyed helping at the church.  Ken loved his children and grandchildren, watching Husker and Notre Dame Football, Kearney Catholic High School sporting events, and gardening.  He was a great jazz musician, and as a saxophone player performing at the Offutt Air Force Base Officers Club. 

Surviving relatives include his daughters; Melanie Moss and her husband Henry of Lincoln, NE, Amy Stump and her husband Troy of Kearney, NE, Heather Myers and her husband Corey of Grand Island, NE, Erin Wilson of Kearney, NE, sons;  Mike Frank and his wife Angel of Granger, IN, Eric Frank and partner David McCalmont of Kearney, NE, brother, Gerald Frank of Hays, KS, grandchildren, Preston, Abbie, Anthony, Phillip, Michael, Alexis, Meredith, Jillian, Levi, Sophia, Ava, Seth, and William.

 

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Andra in 2012, and 3 brothers.
