Sutton resident Kevin Hofmann, 35, died Thursday, January 2, 2014, as a result of an accidental fall in rural Hamilton county. Funeral services are11:00 a.m. Tuesday January 7, 2014, at the Federated Church in Sutton. Burial is at the Sutton Cemetery with luncheon to follow at the American Legion Club. Visitation will be at Sutton Memorial Chapel from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014.
Kevin was born July 20, 1978, in Henderson, NE to Robert and Jocelyn (Griess) Hofmann. He was baptized in the Free German Reformed Church and confirmed at Hope Reformed Church. He attended Sutton Public Schools graduating in 1997. He joined his father in farming after graduation, until his father's death in April 1999. After which, he continued farming with his mother. He married Tanya Eastin on July 25, 2009, at Sutton Federated Church.
Kevin loved farming, cattle drives, and spending all of his free time with many close friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya; mother, Jocelyn Hofmann both of Sutton, NE; sisters, Michelle Hofmann of Sutton, NE; Colleen Hofmann of New York City, NY; stepchildren, Fawna Landers of Sutton, NE; Dylan Landers of Tecumseh, NE; Destiny Landers of Omaha, NE; 2 step-granddaughters, Lilly and Athena; grandmothers, Minnie Hofmann and Sinobia Griess both of Sutton, NE; niece, Victoria and nephew, Christopher; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Hofmann; grandfathers, Gilbert Hofmann and Paul R. Griess; and cousin, Shannon Griess.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to be designated at a later time.
