When they took the field in Stillwater today in the NCAA Regional, they didn't know how much baseball was ahead of them....
Could they win a 1st elimination game and advance to a 2nd and stay alive?
Let's go to the rematch with Cal State–Fullerton with the loser going home...Aaron Bummer on the hill for the Huskers.
\Bottom of one, two outs bases loaded and Fullerton's Clay Williamson comes up with a clutch basehit to give the Titans an early 2–0 lead.
Darin Erstad not happy.
Top 4, Ryan Boldt delivers the first hit for the Big Red, a double to rightcenter.
He went to 3rd on a sacrifice bunt.
Then, senior Michael Prichard comes thru with a sac fly, Ryan scores and its 2–1.
We move to the sixth, runners at 2nd and 3rd and Graham Wiest delivers a wild pitch, Steven Reveles scores, the game is tied at 2.
Then, with 2 outs its Blake Headley with a hit up the middle, Pat Kelly scores and it's 3–2 Nebraska.
In the bottom of the 7th, the Huskers fall apart. The 2nd of two errors is committed by Reveles and the tying run scores to make it 3 apiece.
Then, reliver Bob Greco commits a balk. Coach Erstad said that was his fault.
To the 9th and a scary moment. Ben Miller is hit in the head by a JD Davis pitch.
Runners at 1st and 2nd with two outs, could the Huskers deliver more heroics? Jake Platcek tries but lines out to 2nd, the Husker season ends with a 4–3 loss to Cal State Fullerton.
