We're learning new information Monday night about an afternoon crash at Highway 281 and Guenther Road. One person has been killed; another arrested. The Hall county Sherriff's office is not releasing the name of the 29 year old male at this time pending notification of relatives. The accident happened around 2:00 pm. Traffic was backed up in the northbound lanes for a few hours. News 5's Shelby Fenster is LIVE at the scene with the latest on what happened. Colin: Shelby, do we know what may have caused the crash? Shelby: That's right, Colin. Police now believe alcohol may have been a factor in a Highway 281 crash that left a 29 year old Grand Island man dead. Right now, we're just yards away from where that Highway 281 accident took place just north of Guenther Road. Now the driver of the vehicle, 30 years old of Lincoln was driving that Cadillac southbound on 281 when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times. The deceased was one of four occupants of that Cadillac. He was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Now that driver was transported to St. Francis Medical with non-life threatening injuries. He's been charged with Driving Under the Influence and Felony Motor Vehicle Homicide. Both lanes of Highway 281 are now open - both southbound and northbound lanes were closed for nearly 3 hours. They opened just after 5:00. We'll have the very latest on this accident on News 5 at 10:00. The Hall County Sheriff's Department is still investigating. The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene and was not taken to St. Francis Medical Center.
