Marion S. Fletcher, 82, of Grand Island died Thursday November 21, 2013, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Apfel Funeral Home. The Rev. Caroline Price-Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church.

Marion was born February 10, 1931, at Ames, Iowa to Donald F. and Mildred (Hawley) Starr.

Marion grew up in Mexico City, Mexico and Mont Claire, New Jersey graduating from Mont Claire High School in 1949. She attended Douglas College, San Diego State, Connecticut College and Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska. She has made her home in Grand Island since 1979 where she was employed at the YMCA and in alternations at Dillards.

Her hobbies included music and sewing.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Grand Island, NE, PEO Chapter and Bridge Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol Fletcher of Gig Harbor, Washington, LeAnne Greenup of Corpus Christi, Texas and son, John Fletcher and his special friend, Karen North of Papillion, NE., four grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers & sisters-in-law, Allan H. & Gloria Starr of Buffalo, New York, Gordon L. & Jane Starr of Columbus, Indiana.
