From a fan's standpoint, bye weeks are good for ...what?
Tying the knot? Ok, that's about it.
Other than that, it's just another weekend your team isn't on the field.
So unless you're Vince Vaughn or Owen Wilson, you were probably less than thrilled to see the Huskers have not one ...but two open dates on the 2013 schedule.
Bo Pelini even admits he wasn't overly ecstatic to see two bye weeks at first, but considering the youth ...and injuries.
The Huskers ...definitely benefitted from being off yet again.
Speaking of injuries ...old number 3 hasn't been on the field in any of the last 3 games as he continues to nurse that turf toe.
However, Taylor Martinez has been back on the practice field, getting some reps and progressing gradually.
As he looks to return to action Saturday in Minneapolis.
"It's exciting to have him back back there. We are really going to need him . We have a six game stretch here that is going to be tough and a grind and having taylor back there is only going to make things easier for us. It's not going to be an easy road but have a vet back there is going to make things easier."
"I am very optimistic. I would love to have Taylor back. I would love to have Taylor as our quarterback. I have always wanted Taylor as our quarterback but at the same time I have just as much faith in Tommy and Ronnie. They have been playing good football for us. Optimism is high with Tay. I am excited to see him back with pads on practicing but whoever is going to be healthy is who i want out there Saturday."
"Yea I am the future of being the quarterback here in the next couple years but at the same time you have to understand this guy has been here the last 4 or 5 years and he has done a lot and he has earned that right to come back. I understand it completely."
