Mary Janet Sanderson, 89, lifelong resident of Central City, died on September 29, 2013 at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Graveside services will be Friday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m. at the Mamre Evangelical Free Church Cemetery near Marquette with Kirk Schwarz officiating. There will be no visitation. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.soltfh.com.

Mary was born on March 8, 1924, in Central City to Leonard and Nellie Mae (Mohr) Kuhn. Mary grew up in Central City and graduated from Central City High School. After graduation, she worked at the Farmer's Union in Central City until she was united in marriage to John A. Sanderson on September 8, 1956 in Maryville, Missouri. After their marriage, John and Mary made their home in Central City and Mary was a homemaker and stay-at-home mother for their daughter, Janet.

Mary enjoyed belonging to a bowling league, she and John belonged to a pitch club, they enjoyed square dancing and watching baseball and Nebraska football were favorite past times of hers. Mary dearly loved her cat, Calico.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Janet and Russ Mace of Central City; her brother Roy and Esther Kuhn of Ames, Iowa and their daughters - Kristi Kuhn of Bellevue and Tami Kuhn of Des Moines, Iowa.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, John on June 14, 2011; her parents; three sisters - Pearl Schlitt, Eva Hanner, and Luella Lunsford; and two brothers - Leon and Archie Kuhn.
