Milan "Toad" C. Sarchet, 91, died on May 26, 2014, in Wichita Falls, TX. Memorial service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, May 31, 2014 at St. Leo's Catholic Church in Grand Island. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be given to the family for later designation.

Milan was born July 18, 1922 to Lloyd and Ida (Rose) Sarchet in Norfolk, NE. He graduated from high school in Superior, NE in 1941 where he met his future bride Frances Knothe. They were together the next sixty years until cancer took her from him. In high school he excelled in all sports & was an excellent thespian. Toad served his country in World War II, was a member of the Elks and an honored member of the Knights of Columbus for over fifty years. He had an amazingly dry sense of humor and could foxtrot with the best. He retired after thirty plus years as an inspector for the Bureau of Reclamation. 

Toad was preceded in death by his wife: Frances, infant son: Dennis, brother: Melvin, and his parents. 

He is survived by daughter: Judy Sawyer and husband George of Monument,CO; son: Mike Sarchet and wife Gail of Gretna, NE; daughter: Monica Augustine and husband Mark of Wichita Falls, TX; six grandchildren: Karen DeNaeyer(Bill) of Valentine, NE, Ken Sawyer (Misty) of Chappell, NE, Brooke (Todd) Morehead of Papillion NE, Greg (Ashley) Sarchet of Pinetop, AZ, Melissa Augustine of Wichita Falls, TX, and Marie (Mason) Vailes of Wichita Falls, TX; twelve great-grandchildren; sister: Betty Pettigrew of Superior, NE, sister-in-law: Phyllis Knothe of Bella Vista, AR; and a multitude of friends.
