Take one family, two star student–athletes in basketball and two college scholarships. That is precisely what happened today.
Let's go to Minden high school where both star basketball players Brooke and Jamie Kissinger signed with different division one schools.
Brooke will go to Illinois joining Shelby's Chatrice White and Jamie is heading for the University of San Diego.
This will happen after graduation in May with one more season of high school ball left together here at Minden before going separate ways.
"I WANTED TO PLAY BASKETBALL AT THE DIVISION ONE LEVEL OBVIOUSLY AND THEY SHOWED INTEREST IN ME AND I FIT IN THERE AND AFTER A COUPLE OF VISITS I DECIDED IT WAS THE PLACE WHERE I WANTED TO GO", said Jamie Kissinger.
"WATCHING NEBRASKA PLAY THAT USED TO BE THE DREAM SCHOOL WHERE I WANTED TO GO BUT ONCE THE PROCESS STARTED FRESHMAN YEAR ALL OF THESE OTHER SCHOOLS I STARTED LOOKING AROUND, BIG TEN BASKETBALL BIG TWELVE THAT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN TO PLAY" saod Brooke Kissinger.
Jamie turned down a full scholarship to none other than Princeton University to go to San Diego.
Both average near 20 points a game for the Whippets whose season begins December 5th against Southern Valley.
