While assistance for ag producers affected by recent severe weather is available through agencies like FEMA and the USDA, ag producers themselves are now joining together to help out.
The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture is now collecting donations for a Tornado Disaster Relief Fund. That fund will be targeted to farmers and ranchers who cannot get assistance from other sources, including government programs, or who have losses that are not covered by insurance.
The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture says this neighbor-helping-neighbor way of life is central to giving back to the people of Nebraska.
