Earlier this week I had the pleasure of speaking to one of the bright, young stars on the NASCAR circuit Brad Keslowski from the Team Penske headquarters in Monroeville, North Carolina.

Brad raced from the pole position last week at the at the FedEx 400 at the Dover International Speedway and finished a strong second to Jimmie Johnson.

With the resources of Team Penske behind him, Brad is a solid contender for the Sprint Cup Championship.  He talked about how his season is going so far...

We've had a great season so far. We were able to win at Las Vegas which pretty much locks our way into the NASCAR Sprint Cup chase, 2nd this last week at Dover which AH so close to winning again. I had a shot at winning the Daytona 500 so we've had a great season so far, very proud of everyone here at Team Penske and we just want to keep it rolling.

Brad finished a strong 3rd place at this year's Daytona 500 with Dale Earnhardt, Junior taking the checkered flag.

This Sunday Brad races at the Pocono Speedway followed by a race in Loudon, New Hampshire.

He feels his trip around the circuit will put him in contention for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

Yeah, you know we're having a great year and we think we can parlay that into a run for another championship. There's going to be a lot of stiff competition. There is every year, Jimmie Johnson has been strong, he won six of the last ten championships, then you have Kevin Harvick who's come on really strong as well, so you never really know who's the guy that's going to be the one to beat for the championship until the very end of the year but we think we're going to be one of them.

Over the years, Team Penske of which Brad is a member has won 15 Indy 500 races, including 4 alone by the legendary Rick Mears...

No dobut, thanks to drivers like Brad, this race team is at the top of its game in both Stock Car and Open Wheel racing.
