Kids at the Hastings Museum got a special kind of history lesson today...
Straight from the families of Native Americans.
The Native American Festival was open today to kids of all different ages...
Students did their own weaving and even learned a few words in a Native American language.
The Many Moccasins Dance Troupe performed and traditional Native American instruments were performed throughout the day.
It was tough for some of the kids to pick out their favorite thing of the day...
But they all loved getting the chance to make their own drums.
"We put the balloon on it and put the beans in there and then we made a drum," kindergartner Sophie Smith said.
Aside from the little ones, plenty of volunteers came from Hastings College and Central Community College.
