A brand new federally qualified health clinic is coming to Grand Island.
A large grant was awarded to the Heartland Health Center on Thursday.
The $812,500 are going to help open this new clinic to serve people from all walks of life.
The health center will accept private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare.
It's getting started from funds through the Affordable Care Act.
There are 6 facilities in the state like this one, but the closest on to the east is in Lincoln and westward the closest is near Scottsbluff.
"This opened up a whole new world for those folks who deserve to get healthcare, but simply don't have the access to it." Said Teresa Anderson, Health Director of Central District Health Department.
The clinic has less than 120 days to open its doors.
It will share space with the Central Health Center in Grand Island.
