Teens looking for a summer glow at the tanning booth will need to drag mom and dad with them starting on Friday. That's just one of a handful of new laws set to go into effect in Nebraska tomorrow.
LB 132 passed this past legislative session. That law requires children under the age of 16 to have parent's consent to use sun lamps, tanning booths, or tanning beds. It also mandates that children of that age wear protective eye wear. The law seeks to ensure that parents are aware of the threat of the different kinds of skin cancer that young people face.
Truckers who spill livestock manure in Omaha will now face a minimum 250 dollar fine. That an increase of 150 dollars. The new law is in effect to prevent incidents of numerous spills around meatpacking plants in south Omaha.
Those are just two of the 122 new laws set to go into effect Friday.
