We've already seen one of our Quarterfinal state soccer games at Morrison Stadium in Omaha with a Kearney Bearcat win.

For Hastings Tigers fans, the best is yet to come.

We discuss that in this week's Aurora Cooperative News 5 Five Star Peformer story...

What a Saturday for the  Hastings Tiger soccer program! Rudy Escobar's 2 goals led the boys team to a 3–1 sub state win over Scottsbluff.

At the same time, some 150 miles away the Tiger girls team defeated Elkhorn in sub state. Once again, the city of Hastings takes over the city of Omaha as both team play at Morrison Stadium in this week's quarterfinals.

COACH NANFITO OBVIOUSLY THERE WERE HOSTING SUBSTATE DOWN HERE AND THEY DID WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO AND JUST HAPPY FOR THE COMMUNITY HAVING TWO TEAMS REPRESENTING AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT.

IT'S DEFINATLEY EXCITING FOR BOTH OUR BOYS AND GIRLS PROGRAMS AND IT'S DEFINATELY EXCITING FOR OUR COMMUNITY  THERE IS DEFINATELY A BUZZ AROUND THE SCHOOL AND THEY ARE ASKING IF THE SPIRIT BUSES WILL BE HEADING DOWN TO OMANA AND HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET THOSE BUSES FILLED AND LOADED AND HAVE A GREAT CROWD AND HOPEFULLY BOTH PROGRAMS WILL GIVE THEMSELVES AN OPPORTUNITY TO NGUYEN.

With a 7th straight boys district title and 8th straight for the girls program, if you're a Tiger soccer player you just might as well count on this week as being a special one and encourage each other along the way.

WE WERE TALKING THE GIRLS WERE ON TWITTER AND WE WERE TELLING THEM GOOD LUCK AND THEY WERE TELLING IT TO US, TOO AND WE GOT EACH OTHER'S BACK.

THE BOYS WON AND THAT IS FANTASTIC WE SUPPORT EACH OTHER ALL THE TIME AND WISH US GOOD LUCK. I GOT A TEXT ON THE BUS TODAY FROM ONE OF THE BOYS SAYING GOOD LUCK I KNOW THEY WERE CHEERING US ON AS WE WERE CHEERING THEM ON. ITS GREAT THAT WE'RE GOING BACK.

We'll get to see the girls first, tomorrow night at six, the 7th seed against #2 seed Omaha Skutt.

The Tiger boys take the field Friday at 11, the 6th seed against 3rd seeded Gretna. Win or lose in Omaha, both teams have once again carried the Hastings Tiger banner proudly and once again will carry it into Morrison Stadium in Omaha for the state tournament.

That's why the boys and girls teams for the Hastings Tigers are our Aurora Cooperative Five Star performers.
