While Buffalo County will wait until next week to file charges, Michael Petersen heard his official *Hall County* charges today for the murder of Grand Island attorney Todd Elsbernd.

Petersen will be charged with first degree murder, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He could face the death penalty.

Judge Philip Martin ordered him held without bond. His preliminary hearing is set for January. Multiple agencies arrested Petersen around 5:30 yesterday as he drove on J Street east of Hastings. Officials say he was armed, but offered no resistance.

News 5's Shelby Fenster was in the courtroom this morning.
She will have a full report tonight on News 5 at 5 and 6.
