Paul L. Miller, 93 of Kearney died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney. Rev. Robert Perry will officiate and burial will follow at Kearney Cemetery with military honors by the Kearney American Legion Post #52, the Kearney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #759 and the Nebraska National Guard Military Honors Team. Visitation will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney and one hour prior to services Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to The Peterson Senior Center. Paul was born on January 9, 1921 in Kearney to William C. and Grace M. (Keyser) Miller. He attended Longfellow High School in Kearney and then served his country during WWII. He married Joyce Swearingen in 1943. He married Margaret I. Porter on May 20, 1961 in Kearney. Paul worked the majority of his life as a General Utility Worker for NPPD. He enjoyed gardening and was instrumental in the creation of the Farmers Market in Kearney. He also enjoyed fishing and dancing. Paul was a member of the Kearney American Legion Post #52 and the Kearney Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #759. He was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney.

Surviving relatives include his Sons, Ronald and Connie Miller of Omaha, NE, Paul Miller, Jr. of Kearney; Daughters, Joyce Waugh of Kearney, NE, Joye Lynn Carpenter of Casa Grande, Arizona; Step-Daughter Lori Ryan, of Kearney, NE; Step-Sons, Kent and Lori Porter of Bozeman, MT and Joe and Peggy Porter of Elm Creek, NE; Sister, Dorothy Bohling of Lebanon, Missouri; 19 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Paul was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife Margaret; 1 Brother, 1 Sister, 1 Son In Law, 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.
