The Lincoln Pius high student accused of attacking another student in a school bathroom with a knife and hammer will be tried as an adult. A judge denied Sarah Piccolo's bid to move her case to Juvenile court.

According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Lancaster County District Judge Jeffre Cheuvront denied the transfer. Piccolo's lawyer said she doesn't have a criminal history and can get the services and treatment she needs through the juvenile court system. The 16 year-old pleaded not guilty in adult court last month to first degree assault and using a weapon to commit a felony for the attack.
