Most of you probably have dinner plans for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
But unfortunately not everyone has the same luxury.
The Hastings Salvation Army started getting ready for its community meal today.
The turkey and all the fixings will be served from 11 a–m to 1 tomorrow afternoon at the Masonic Temple.
Major Abe Tamayo says the dinner is about more than just the food.
Of course we are grateful for what we have, and so in response we give out of the abundance of what's given to us.
For people that have nothing, people living in the streets in the cold or are lonely. And so the dinner provides a social outlet as well as a physical feed for people in need.
And even though the main dishes are already being prepared... the Salvation Army still needs your help.
They're looking for salads and desserts you could donate... as well as your time. They are hoping for more volunteers to help the serve the food as well.
