Seven thousand pounds of unwanted prescription drugs.
That's the amount collected across the state last Saturday at National Prescription Drug Take Back Day events. Results were released this morning by the Nebraska Attorney General's office.
Since the efforts began in May of 2011, more than 35 thousand pounds of prescription drugs have been collected. Attorney General Jon Bruning says that in the wrong hands, prescription drugs can have deadly consequences; and that the take back events help keep Nebraskans safe.
