Ray F. Lengkeek, 81, of Kearney, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the St. Johns Good Samaritan Society in Kearney. Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John’s Good Samaritan Society for one hour followed by a graveside service with Pastor Robert Perry. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. John’s Good Samaritan Society or the Faith United Methodist Church. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services in Kearney are in charge of arrangements.

Ray was born August 13, 1932 in Poole, Nebraska to John and Bernice (Stacy) Lengkeek. He worked odd jobs in the area most of his life. He very much liked pictures of churches and looking at church buildings. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kearney, and attended faithfully when he was able. He liked certain kinds of books, enjoyed listening to his radio, and playing his cassette tapes. He loved his family, extended family at St. Johns, and most of all he loved the Lord.

Ray is survived by his sister in law Charlene Lengkeek of McColl, South Carolina, many loving nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, sister Evelyn Miller, and brother Harold Lengkeek.
