2013 was another record breaking year for the Central Nebraska Regional Airport.

Officials this morning released boarding numbers for the year; saying that a record setting 56,902 passengers used Grand Island for their air travel. That tops the previous record, set in 2012, by 843 passengers.

The airport also set an all-time monthly boarding record in December; with 6,162 passengers. That compares to 6,061 passengers in December of 2012.

To accommodate continued growth at the facility, the Hall County Airport Authority has plans to build a new passenger terminal.

Renderings will be unveiled tomorrow from 4 to 7 pm at the Grand Island Public Library.
