One of the Republican candidates hoping to be the next governor of Nebraska made a stop in North Platte Tuesday.
Holdrege State Senator Tom Carlson was talking to cattlemen from across the area.
Carlson says his time in the legislature is a big asset in his bid for governor.
He adds there are a number of issues he would address if he is elected governor.
Carlson is very concerned about tax dollars and making sure the services the state provides are being utilized effectively.
"I think we need to look at the dollars that we spend on many of the services that we provide and how essential the services are.
We need to have a system that incentives people that receive the services that can provide for themselves to do so," Carlson said.
Others currently running for Governor include Republican Charlie Janssen and Democrat Chuck Hassebrook.
