Water in the South Platte River was starting to recede, while water levels in the Platte River were running bank to bank Wednesday afternoon.
Near Grand Island the river was a little over 3 feet high and is expected to crest Friday at close to 6.5 feet.
Even thought that is very close to flood stage in Hall County, the emergency manager told the state emergency management agency Wednesday he doesn't expect any problems as the water rises.
NEMA officials said they also don't expect any additional issues as the water moves east, although they are still warning residents of the debris and bacteria in the flood water.
Flood warnings remain in effect in Dawson County until 1 p.m. Saturday along the Platte River, and until further notice in Buffalo, Phelps, Kearney and Hall counties.
