Harvard resident, Rodney “Rod” Glantz, 62 passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE.
Services will be Friday, November 8, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard with Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard. Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 3 pm to 6 pm with the family present from 5 pm to 6 pm at the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings in in charge of the arrangements.
A memorial will be established at a later date.
Rod was born July 19, 1951 to Richard Henry and Ava Maurine (Long) Glantz in Hastings, NE. He attended Harvard Public School and graduated from the Harvard High School in 1969. He married Kathleen Kay Kerr on January 15, 1973 in Smith Center, KS. Rod was the founder of R & K Irrigation and several other corporations, he retired from R & K in July 2013.
Rod was dearly loved by his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved his work and visiting with the guys out at T-L Irrigation.
He is survived by his wife Kay of 40 years, two daughters, Erin and husband Chuck and their daughter Timberlyn, Kiley and husband Ben and their sons, Hudson and Turner, one son, Richard and one sister, Linda and husband Marv and their children Lisa and Jeff.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
