Roger A Williams, 77 of Hastings, NE formerly of Aurora, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, NE. Roger has been cremated and there are no services planned. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home of Grand Island is assisting the family.

Roger was born on April 16, 1936 to Charles and Bessie (Avers) Williams in Aurora, NE. After graduation from Aurora High School, Roger joined the Navy and served for 3 years and was honorably discharged. On his return from service Roger attended the Trade School in Milford, NE (Southeast Community College) to become a truck mechanic. After several years of fixing trucks, he decided to make a change to driving one. For years Roger drove trucks for two different companies before signing on with Dahlsten Truck Line in 1976. He never looked back from that decision. Roger drove from coast to coast and border to border. When he retired in 2010, he had logged in 5 million miles. 

He is survived by two sisters: Bonnie (Williams) Jensen of Grand Island and Marcine (Williams) DeMaranville of Omaha; five niece and nephews; eight great niece and nephews; and five great-great niece and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Bessie and brother-in-law, Harlan Jensen.
