Roy D. Tagge, 73 of Grand Island died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1st at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United Veterans Honor Guard and Nebraska Army National Guard.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tagge was born July 31, 1940 at Grand Island the son of Alvinus and Blanche (Thavenet) Tagge.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Samantha Tagge of Port Charlotte, FL and Donnie Tagge of Grand Island; brother, Wayne Tagge of Grand Island and sisters, Arlene and Gary Halm of Philips, NE, Judy and Larry Werner of Omaha and Druene Baumann of Henderson, NV; and eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces and many friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delbert and brother-in-law, Bruce Baumann.

Roy was raised in Grand Island graduating from Grand Island Senior High, class of 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1959-1961. Following his military service he returned to Grand Island and was united in marriage to Patricia Herring on September 26, 1964. He retired from Wilson Concrete following many years of service.

He was a member of the Platt-Duetsche where he enjoyed playing sheep head and socializing with friends, he volunteered at Indianhead Golf Course and enjoyed husker football and horse racing.
