A trillion–dollar, bipartisan spending bill passed through the House just a few hours ago.
The bill now heads to the Senate.
Don't expect U.S. Senator Deb Fischer to back the plan.
Fischer points out that the spending levels in the bill are determined by the budget resolution passed in December...
She doesn't support that resolution and feels it only delays spending cuts.
The spending bill funds the government through October...
And provides funding for new priorities, like the President's education expansion plan.
But Fischer says a complete change of course is needed...
"The only way to seriously reduce our debt is to cut wasteful spending now. No more delays or promises of cuts down the road," Fischer said before the bill was passed.
