There were some indications Thursday a government shutdown over Obamacare, on Oct. 1 will at least be delayed.
The Senate continues to work on a House-passed resolution. A vote is expected Friday.
Sen. Mike Johanns weighed in on the debate to fund the federal government but defund Obamacare:
"Even if all those democrats showed up to vote to defund it, even if we got even more democrats because you would have to override a presidential veto," said the Nebraska republican. "The congressional research service has made it clear, in its opinion that you don't' stop it really at all. This bill was constructed to be mandatory and it's not effective in a large part by continuing resolution."
On the Senate floor Thursday, Deb Fischer said Obamacare is hurting hardworking Nebraskans and their businesses.
