He's been a vocal opponent of the Affordable Care Act, even before the law was passed. Nebraska U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns has called the ACA "bad for America."

In his weekly Thursday podcast, the Republican talked about the website glitches and the many already-insured who will have to get new insurance or pay higher premiums.

Johanns called the latest problems "major failures" for the Administration's signature legislation.

He said, "We are just now starting to see the real-world consequences of this far reaching, 2,700-page law with 7 foot high regulations.

"What more should Americans expect from this flawed law? In the face of all these regulations, many of my democratic colleagues are saying that like it or not, Obamacare is the law, and we have to accept that fact. Washington created this problem and Washington has a responsibility to fix it."

Johanns is supporting legislation he hopes will provide more transparency with the ACA. He said he also wants to prevent Americans from being punished for the Administration's mistakes.
