Shelly Casterline agrees to plea deal

A plea deal for the 41 year-old woman of the mother and son duo accused of killing a Guide Rock woman. Shelly Casterline will spend time behind bars. She agreed to a plea deal yesterday in Adams County District Court.

Shelly pleaded guilty to second degree murder in the death of 68 year-old Virgina Barone. Her sentencing is set for June 10th. Shelly is facing 20 years to life in prison. Shelly was previously charged with first degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and burglary.

Her son, 23 year-old Andrew Casterline is pleading not guilty to charges of first degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and burglary. His trial is set to begin May 27th. Barone was found dead in her home with stab wounds on October 5th, 2013.
