Student struck by car at Stolley Park Elementary

Some scary moments this morning at Stolley Park Elementary in Grand Island; after a student was struck by a car that then left the scene.
The incident happened just before 8 a-m. According to Grand Island Public Schools, an ambulance was called to the school. The student did not require major medical attention and was able to return to class.
A GIPS spokesman says they believe police have made contact with the driver of the vehicle. School officials are reminding parents and students to take extra precautions when there is limited visibility due to weather and darkness.
