Still glowing... a bill to curb teen indoor tanning advanced in the legislature today.
LB 132, introduced by Omaha State Senator Jeremy Nordquist, advanced with a 34-0 vote. Nebraskans younger than 16 would need a parent's signature before using a tanning bed. An amendment was added to the bill, a parent or guardian must sign a consent form each time the teen uses the tanning facility. It also promises the minor will wear protective eyewear. The bill would also require a warning sign to be posted.

Nordquist said he introduced the bill to lower the risk of skin cancer among young adults. Nebraska currently does not have any age restrictions on indoor tanning.
