Nebraska's State Senators have their hands full with nearly 500 bills introduced this session.  Add that to the roughly 300 carried over from last year.

And one topic that's at the forefront of many bills? Taxes.

Kearney's Senator Galen Hadley serves not only as the chair of the Revenue Committee but also the Tax Modernization Committee and has introduced several tax bills himself.

Senator Hadley says he's not surprised at the number of tax bills this session, not only because of the modernization committee, but also because taxes are a big priority for Senators running for higher office.

But it's not the number of bills this session that's giving the Revenue Committee such a heavy load.

"I think they're about the same, maybe a little more. But the intensity of the amount of them-the dollar amount-is going to be significantly higher than what we've seen before," said Senator Galen Hadley, District 37.

This week the Revenue Committee will hold three hearings, covering 8 different bills.

Do you approve, or disapprove, of work done this session in the Nebraska state legislature?
