Juniata Fire and Rescue, Adams County Sheriff's Deputies and the Nebraska State Patrol all responded to train truck collision near Juniata Monday morning.

The semi ran into the moving train around 10 AM as it was headed north on Roseland Avenue.

The Adams County Sheriffs Department says inattention by the driver caused the accident.  The driver of the Bladen semi was not injured.

But, the Adams County Sheriffs Department says accidents like this, and worse, are easily avoidable.

"Slow down, look both ways, especially if there's two sets of tracks. Make sure the one train is completely clear. Make sure you don't drive around those crossing arms. And just pay more attention," said Adams County Sheriffs Deputy Dennis Dettwiller.

Citations are pending an investigation by the Adams County Sheriffs Department.
