A bill that could have kept the Grand Island Veterans Home from moving to Kearney did not make it out of committee today.

State Senator Mike Gloor's bill, LB 935, would have given the legislature the jurisdiction over any state facility moving from one city to another.

But the bill failed to make it to the floor, failing by 3 to 4 vote in the Legislature's Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee.

This even after the bill would have no longer affected the Vets Home move... just future projects.

If the election was today, who would you vote for Grand Island mayor?
