On Tuesday the Adams County Board of Supervisors passed a new truck bypass, allowing trucks to access east Hastings from 42nd Street and Showboat Road.
With trucks leaving Hastings at the northern 42nd Street instead of traveling down to 26th, how will the bypass affect local businesses?
Businesses within the affected area tell News 5, they're not worried.
Rivals Sports Bar and Grill said their business relies heavily on the nearby softball field and not from truckers passing through.
The Pump and Pantry near 26th said they don't rely on business from the truckers either.
They said the truckers just pass through Hastings and fill up on gas once they get to Highway 6.
