While the community of Pilger focuses on rebuilding, one historic building will soon be torn down.

The badly damaged Wisner-Pilger Middle School will be demolished after the school board voted to tear it down. Demolition is set to begin tomorrow at 8 AM.

The historic building was destroyed when 200 MPH winds tore through the town.

The building is nearly a century old and for a long time held grades K through 12.

Three portable classrooms for the students and staff will now be near the elementary school in Wisner. Classes are scheduled to begin on August 14.
