York man charged with manslaughter, tampering in court today

The man charged with driving drunk and causing the crash that killed an Aurora school teacher is in court today. Otis Newcomb will be in York County District Court today for a status hearing.

37 year old Newcomb faces charges of felony manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence. According to police, Newcomb was driving on November 2nd when he crossed the center line, striking the vehicle carrying 31 year old Lauren Akerson. Akerson was pronounced dead at the scene.

A trial for Newcomb is currently set for April 22nd at 9 am but that may change after today's status hearing.
