Flooding seems to be threatening areas all over the world this week, from Europe to the Eastern Seaboard to Columbia to Mexico.  Southeastern Mexico was drenched with 20-30 inches of rain causing the mud to slide down the mountainsides.  In the Mexican state of Oaxaca, 300 homes were buried and it was originally reported that perhaps 1000 people may be buried.
As of Tuesday night  with some rescuers finally reaching the sight, no fatalities have been indicated, with government officials struggling to reach the area because of washed out bridges and roadways.  So far it appears a majory tragedy has been averted but 11 people remain missing.
Oaxaca is a region of indiginous peoples, who live with very little immenities.  The people of the region are known for their musical talents with most kids learning to play and instrument before they learn to read and write.
