Fire crews were called to a house on "C" Street and Saint Joseph around 11 o'clock last night.
Eyewitness accounts say you could see smoke and flames coming out of the first floor. Hastings Fire Department contained the fire to one room in the one–story structure and items in the house did get damaged.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
