PFC Anthony Allen of Hastings Nebraska, currently stationed at Ft. Stewart Georgia, and PV2 Ashley Vandeventer of Juniata, currently stationed at Ft. Sam Houston Texas took Christmas leave to come home for the holidays and get married. The two joined the army this past summer and through six months of high stress training, military indoctrination, and separation love conquered all. The two soldiers took Christmas leave and came home to see family and friends. On Monday December 22, 2008 the two shared thier vows and love with each other and made their love official by tying the knot. The couple is hoping that after Ashley has completed her training at Ft. Sam Houston in May, the army will see fit to station them both together at St. Stewart so they can begin their lives together in earnest. Until then, as is often the way of the military, the two will live half way across the country from each other and spend the first five months of their married life sharing by telephone.
