March 23, 2009 Storm Chase

My husband Pete went on his first storm chase of 2009 on Monday March 23rd. He teamed up with Eddy Weiss' Chasing4Life team and KHAS TV Meteorologist Travis Klanecky as well as KHAS Reporter Adam Lefkoe. As the convoy of chase vehicles moved east on I-80 toward the Giltner exit, it became apparent that they weren't going to make it to the off ramp before the storm descended on them. Enjoy the snapshots and video from the day and watch for more as tornado season continues to draw closer.

It was wind-driven hail Shaggy. The hail wasn't very big, but it was very windy!

Hey you guys are nuts man! Really. The decal saved you guys. Vehicle damaged beyond the back window. Crazy! What did it sound like when the tornado hit you or was it blasted by hail and wind. Love the video and pictures hope to see more! Be safe
