North Wins State Three Years In a Row!

For the third year in a row, Tyler North has won the SkillsUSA Power Equipment and Technology contest at the Nebraska SkillsUSA State Conference in Columbus, Nebraska. Tyler competed against the best students across the state to earn his first place gold medal. The Power Equipment and Technology contest consists of diagnostics and repair of small engine machinery. This can include machines from grass trimmers to riding lawn mowers. By winning this contest, Tyler is qualified for the National SkillsUSA contest being held in Kansas City, Missouri this summer. He will be competing against the best and brightest from across the nation. Tyler also served as the Nebraska SkillsUSA State Vice-President for the 2008-2009 school year.

Ethan Olson won a third place bronze medal in the SkillsUSA Firefighting competition. Ethan competed against other student firefighters in and obstacle course designed to test the contestants firefighting skills and test their physical strength and endurance.

Mercades Lieb took home a third place bronze medal with her skills as welder. In the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding contest, (GTAW) Mercades had to weld various types of out of position welds on stainless steel plate and completed a written knowledge test.
